"CANOE FIRST PRIZE IN SHELTERBOX RAFFLE"

6 December 2007

A wooden canoe was the star prize in a raffle in aid of Shelterbox, the Devon Air Ambulance and

The Children's Hospice South West. The wooden canoe was made by members of the Princes Trust Team,

which is run by Torridge Training and North Devon College.

The trust's Torridge Training's Development Team wanted to raise £500 to buy a shelter box, which can

support  a family of 10 in crisis for six months. Additional donations from the raffle were split between

Devon Air Ambulance and The Children's Hospice South West.

Mayor of Bideford, David Ratcliff, and Torridge and West Devon MP, Geoffrey Cox, both attended the

draw at the Torridge Training Service's premises in High Street, Bideford.
